General Foster Care: Children are placed into foster care whose
emotional, behavioral, and medical needs do not exceed that of the
"average"child.
Foster Care is the temporary placement of children into a family-like setting when they are unable to live with their own family. This may occur due to abuse, or neglect of a child's basic needs. There are various types of foster care designed to meet the individual needs of specific children.
Specialized Behavioral Care: These children have varying types of behavioral difficulties and emotional needs. Many will be involved in therapeutic services.
Specialized Medical Care: These children have varying degrees of medical needs requiring special care. Foster parents receive additional
training in order to meet the special medical needs of these children.
M.I.D.D.(Mentally Impaired, Developmentally Disabled): These children are placed into foster homes from shelters, psychiatric hospitals, or residential programs. They have specialized behavioral and emotional needs and will be involved in therapy and with behavioral aide services.
Foster children range in age from 0-18 and are of all races, ethnic backgrounds and religions. All foster children are under the supervision of juvenile court due to abuse or neglect. They are in need of safe, nurturing foster homes to help them grow and develop.
