Who are the children waiting to be adopted? |

Evergreen Children's Services provides adoption services for children who are in
the foster care program and who are unable to return to their birth families. Adoption services that are provided include adoption training for potential adoptive
parents, matching waiting children with adoptive families, completing adoption
home studies for adoptive families, pre-placement visitation and processing of court documents necessary to complete
the adoption. |
African-American children ages 0-18 |
Caucasian children age 10 and up |
Children with special emotional or medical needs |
Who can be an adoptive parent? |
Married couples |

Single persons, either male or female |
Someone who is in adequate physical and mental health |
Someone who has the legal income to meet the needs of his or her family |
Someone who does not have a criminal history or Protective Service history |
Someone who has room for a child in their home, mobile home or apartment. |
Sibling groups of two or more |

There are hundreds of children in Michigan waiting for adoptive families |
There are no long waiting lists to adopt |
The only adoption fees involved are paid to the court to process the adoption, and
those total approximately $110.00. There is no home study fee for families looking
to be matched with a waiting child. |
